Go to the DMV. It'll probably cost you about $5 or $10 for her info with the plate number.

For the cops, I guess the extent of the damage will probably determine how quickly they will get in contact with her.
But there's no harm in going to the DMV to find out who this person is..... Does the DMV still give out this kind of information? Or is it only cops who have a right to use this info?

damn that's pretty bad.. she's stupid for hittin and running.. this is why i have a digital camera in my car all the time.. i wouldve chased her like heck, take pix of her car, and maybe even follow her home while i call the cops and tell them of the situation.
but since u got her plates, u better hope she doesnt get her dents/scratches fixed in time.. this happened to one of my friends in TX. the guy dented him, he got his license, and reported it. by the time the cops came in the guy's house, his car was spic and clean as if nothing happend. as a result, since my cousin has no pictures of the other guy bumping his car, or the damage to his car, the cops dismissed the case, and my cousin's premium ended up increasing since the insurance thought he did it himself..

i know it's just a scratch like a foot long probably from her molding but still i don't want her to get away empty handed. she has to at least pay for something

i woulda followed her...just like when i chased the off-duty cop in his GMC yukon when he tryed to run my lil hatch off the road, he then flashed his gun and badge....I ******* hate crooked cops. fool still never got in trouble cuz he was a LT or some dumb bullshit and they didnt want to believe a lil "ricer"....

Re: (EG_Civic_GSR)
yep i should of followed her cause the cops couldn't find her, so i'm outta luck. She no longer lives where her car is listed. cops sent her a letter or report hoping that the post office will foward it but it was returned because of an unknown address. F@#*...... Oh well i guess i'll try to fix it myself, unless i ever do find see her on the road again..........

A hit and run is a serious offense, no matter what that damage is. My ex-wife was in a hit-n-run accident and someone followed the other car and told her to go back to the scene of the accident, and she didn't and he got her plate #. Detectives found her and procesucted her, don't know whether she ended up in jail, but lost her license for sure, huge fines as well.
Filing the report, the police detectives will find them and they will get theirs. Have it fixed and save the receipts, since they will end up paying for it in the end.
