got a new cam(d16) have a question
ok so i ordered a zex stage two cam and when i got it its in a "COMP cams" box with all "COMP cams" information in it. is zex a part of "comp cams" or what is going on here? the cam i got is part number 59300 grind# 260 VTEC D16z SOHC HONDA. is this normal when ordering a zex cam? or did someone mess up?
edit: ok so i did what i should have done before and researched it via the web and found that the cams are one in the same, my bad. one more question though, on the specs sheet it says i will not need valve adjustment, is this true? i will check it anyway. thanks

don't even worry i thought the same thing when i got my zex's stage 2 cam it was in a comp cams box. that is who makes them for zex. the cam is nice i noticed it alot. i suggest getting springs and reatiners because i blew mine up. i drove it hard all the time but i would still recomended upgraded springs and retainers

what rpm were you revving to? could you give me more info on your blown valvetrain? did you over-rev? how long did you have the cam for before it blew? what engine was it in?

i had a 99 ex coupe. i was reving at 7300 rpm. i had the cam for about 4-5 months. i broke a retainer then the valve dropped down went through the piston and i found it in the oil pan. some other pieces of the valve went throught the other valves and the blown piston bashed the **** out of the head. it sucked but now i got ls/vtec and never been happier . i still miss woopn some *** in the single cam.

comp and zex are local here in memphis. they are the same company run out of the same building. comp is mainly v8's so i guess they put together zex as their import division.
