Got free gsr front and rear sway bars installed... did i make a bad move? please help
hey guys,
i was gettin my brakes installed ( another post ) and the guys there were real nice so they gave me front and rear gsr sway bars and did the install too, free. i would like to know if this would make my handling better or worse? since ive been readong on here that it might cause too much understeer? or oversteer? i figured i didnt have any stock, and they were free so could it hurt? thanks for any help, anything is appreciated!

What you need to understand is how Understeer and Oversteer work.
Understeer: wheel is turned but car keeps pushing towards the outside of the turn.
This is usually due to a no sway bars or one front sway but no rear sway or too small of a rear sway.
Oversteer: opposite of understeer. Accomplished by having a larger rear bar.
FF's already have a tendency to understeer beacuse of their drivetrain layout. I believe the GSR's rear sway is pretty dinky, which will help with the understeer, make the handling somewhat more neutral. But it is better than nothing. So I think it was a wise move if your into handling, it's a good start. Maybe later on down the line a bigger rear sway should be in order. Such as an ITR or skunk2 or Comptech etc.

Well, any sway bar is better than none, and if you got it for free, then I don't think anyone is going to tell you it was stupid to put them on!
