Icon6 Got a d16z6 overheating issue

Ok guys i got a issue. Im thinking my thermostat is stuck closed but im not definite..

So i start my car and everything is normal, i wait like ten minutes come back out and start driving. Temp gauge is reading normal at start. But as soon as i start driving it starts to go up a bit. No problem i was thinking maybe it was just from the motor still warming up. I get going maybe doing like 45 and the gauge just starts rising slowly up. I pull over and it goes back down. I pop the hood. Check the houses. The bottom hose is hot but is collapsing a little. So i pull it into the garage. Let the car cool down about 15 minutes. Take off the bottom hose to see if its blocked up somewhere. Antifreeze goes everywhere! like rushing out without the car started and it cooled down. What do you guys think? Thermostat problem? air in the system? idk what it is help me out

probably thermostat blocked up...it sounds like you have air in the system. bleed it and see if it helps. also look around for any leaks. i had one hose on the back of the IM that was dripping just barely and it fixed it some, but i think i had air in the system also.

you can take the thermostat out and boil it in water and see if it is stuck or if it comes open. my dad used to do it all the time and confused the **** out of me. lol
