Got a 1999 si drivers axle today but
car has integra halfshaft in it currently, car is a 98 ex with b18b it almost looks like if i remove the halfshaft and intermidiate shaft the 99 si axle will be on a much different angle and will rub my exhaust.
alittle nervous to open it up and try as they wont take it back if its open..

All B-series axles and intermediate shafts are the same except for the axle ring differences for ABS/non ABS (but you can use ABS axles in non-ABS cars).
So an EM1 axle shouldn't sit any differently than an Integra axle..

Re: Got a 1999 si drivers axle today but
Pretty pissed off its 11pm work tomorrow at 5am no vehicle, as the axle will not fit, car had integra halfshaft on it before, now this sir axle is a full length it will not fit through the header and the engine block area to go into the tranny..
Now car will be on jacks for another 3 days waiting for an integra half axle that i'll order tomorrow. Mother****ers better take this axle back

was going to take picures but was laying on concrete floor and oil/tranny fluid and its cold as **** out lol. Theres no way I can put the axle into the transmission as it hits the block and wont go into the transmission straight, so i'll be putting the integra shaft back in and order a halfshaft tomorrow

Re: Got a 1999 si drivers axle today but
as you can see in the last picture it is hitting the engine block and in the pics where its showing the splines that is how it is angled when hitting the block i cant force it in or wiggle it around or anything.
So has anyone ever seen something like this??

All B series left/driverside axles use the intermediate shaft.
If you have a left/driverside axle that goes all the way from the wheel hub to the transmission, it's for a D-series.

One thing i want to make sure of.. Is the intermediate shaft the same length for the integra and civic? i do not want to get the wrong part again and have to order and stuff.

Re: Got a 1999 si drivers axle today but
I've switched from crappy Autozone axles to possibly better quality "CarDone" brand ones from http://rockauto.com
they are drop-shipped FAST, too. Like $50 shipped for the last one I got (B series right side).
and like ^ said, get an Integra one if in doubt. people have all sorts of wrong part catalogs out there.

Yeh their catalog is not good at all, Gave me **** saying no this is the axle.. as their catalog says the civic sir(american si) has the full shaft and the civic si(american ex) has the half shafts :S completly backwards.. they will have one there tomorrow i'll be taking mine over to make sure they look the same and leave it with them for the core charge.
