Good price?
Is $7500 for a 1999 Honda Civic EX a good deal? I just picked myself up one because I couldn't afford an SI. It came with 17" Enkei CDR9s and Falken Ziex ZE-502s, Comptech strut and sway bars, Comptech headers and exhaust. It also has been lowered. Also any performance tips would be helpful, thank you.

sounds like a shady deal... 7,500 for a 99? Unless he has 200,000 miles on it it's a good deal so long as it's in good condition. But if you are helping to sponsor stealing cars i shall you

Re: Good price? (93delsol)
I bought the car a couple about a week ago, and the guy's whole deal was he lost his job and he needed cash. The car has been transfered into my name, it has 55,000 miles on it, and it runs pretty sweet. In terms of condition the paint is in premo condition as is the interior. One of these days when I get my camera fixed I'll post pics of it. It is pretty sweet.

Re: Good price? (Troy)
It hasn't really been to fixed up, I mean if you look at what's been added it isn't that much. I had it taken to a mechanic just to be sure the engine was in good shape and he said there was nothing wrong with it.

hmm... maybe, but even if I do that I still couldn't afford an SI, especially where I live, it feels like prices here are jacked up like 20% from the rest of the US.

Yeah, you got a damn good deal. I work at a Honda dealer and we would probably give somebody that much or a little more for a trade-in. We'd sell it for at least $12k (prob. more like $13k certified). Sounds like you got a good deal but I would suggest running a Carfax on it. It's definitely worth the investment. Enjoy it otherwise!

Jesus dude - why not sell it for book value and buy a hatch and do a swap?
I understand you want an Si and all, but for $8,000 or so you could have akick-*** hybrid that would romp all over the 99-00 Si coupe.
I had less than 12K in my old hatch and it was in perfect shape, had an ITR swap, moonroof, coil-overs and adj. struts, camber kits, lightweight 15in. wheels/tires, Integra GS-R seats, short shifter, intake, exhuast, blah blah And that included the "expensive" price of $5,00 for the Si hatch back in 1997 when I bought it. ($5,000 was dirt cheap for a 70K Si back then)
Ran 13.9@100.97mph in full street trim meaning full interior, street tires, etc.
For 8K you could still have a bad-*** ride and actually be faster than an Si and have cheaper insurance too

Re: Good price? (B18C5-EH2)
True, but I really don't like the way the hatchbacks look. I never have, which is why I think the new SI is ugly as sin. Well see what happens in the next couple of months.
