IS IT GOOD TO PAINT?
 

I took off my valve cover and sprayed it down with simple green, it still has grease spots on it...can i paint that? will the paint stick?

It will look like crap if you don't get all the grease off of it. Use a strong degreaser on it, like some foam stuff and let it set for a few minutes and get the rest of that stuff off.

Soak that shit overnight with a higher concentration. If that doesn't work, try something stronger, like mineral spirits, or gasoline. Then scuff that shit a little bit to ensure good contact.
