Default Good news and bad news :-T

Well, good news I ran a 14.3@97 on 8 psi. Bad news I think I broke something lol. I never do burnouts before runs but I guess I just HAD to lol. It was my last run and I tried the burnout but it just wheel hopped sounded horrible. So I stage and go and the run feels good but all of a sudden I feel the front end shaking. I said **** it and finished the run with a 14.5@whatever. Well when I left off all I hear is CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK. Car drives and what not but when i left off the gas thats all I hear. And when I go into a gear it feels like its slamming into gear. Reverse is the worst. I'm thinking I fucked up something with the axel. The clunk comes from the left side so I figure thats why I can still drive since the right wheel is the one that spins.

Sounds like your axle fell out a little bit, or broke.

I had mad wheel hop once when running at a track, and it turns out my axle just fell out.

lol I know my motor isn't blown. It's something to do with the tranny/axel I think.

That's what I was thinking. I'm gonna jack it up tomorrow and take a peak. I tried to feel for it at the track but couldnt really tell too much.

I had a similar problem with mine and some major wheel hop. It ended up being that I ruined the carrier bearing on the intermediate shaft on the driver side. The car drove just fine, but made an annoying noise and it was cause the bearing was causing the axle to move in and out of the tranny a little and was hitting on the bracket that holds the bearing to the block. I would put the car on jack stands and run the car in first gear at idle and see what moves.

I'm learning to drive. I think my last run would have been a damn high 13-low 14 if I didn't **** up 3rd-4th. The vibration that I was getting got my head all fucked up and I forgot to use the clutch rofl. Now I have a tiny grind in 4th. I'm such a dummy.

Welp, I jacked it up and I guess it was the axel lol it just moves around. The part thats connected to the trans. I'm not sure if it broke or just popped out. I don't feel any little peices in the boot so I'm hoping it just popped out. I'm too lazy to take it apart right now. I'll keep you guys posted! 14.3 WOOOOO. :-P

Edit: And a new question for you guys. Is tranny fluid gonna come out if I take out the drivers side axel? Or does it only spill out on the passanger side(side that spins)

Yes, tranny fluid will spill out a little bit when you remove your alxes.

You can probably just get the carrier bearing pressed out and a new one put back in, but I just bought a new intermediate shaft with the bearing from Raxles.

A little fluid will come out, just top it off once you get the car back on the ground and level. Go get a balljoint seperator. It will take one hit and you will be done. It looks like a big long 2 prong fork.
