Default is this a good engine swap?

i was looking around and talking to some friends. i herd that a good engine consists of the H22A or H22A4 block, the GSR head, and the integra Type R tranny. is this a good setup for a turbo, running a 8:1 compression? also, does anyone know how much psi you can boost by how much the compression is lowered. i figured i could run around 18psi at 8:1. but im not sure. also, does anyone know a good solid place i can purchase these pieces.. not ebay. thankx..

also.. whats a better exhaust for the street that wont be excessively loud, the GREDDY EVO2 cat back (i dont this sounds too good until VTEC engages), or the Apexi WS cat back (herd it was very quiet, but can still hear VTEC engage).
thank you

WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW OW

h series block with a b seires head isn't a bolt on affair. i don't think its possible even. ITR tranny can be used on a H series motor, there are some drag guys out there that have an adapter plate but ya.

a b18c1 is a good swap, and you can boost it too. its fairly basic swap too, h22a is a good swap but its alil more complicated then the b sries

your friends are stupid jackassses actually.

the h22a block and gsr head will NOT work together. between bore sizing, bore spacing and every single coolant and oil passage not matching...IT WONT HAPPEN!

yeah, thats called a b20vtec and would be pretty fast if built right. You can contact me for that though, and I can give you an excellent price.

Would you go all in against Farha or Ferguson in the World Series without ever playing poker? See, if you know nothing about Honda performance and want to do something as complex (relatively) as head/block/internal/tranny swapping it's about as intelligent as going a round of blind-man's-bluff with a fist full of cash.

Putting all your eggs in one basket is dangerous. Why don't you start with a simple swap and determine where you want to go from there.

its prett mucht hat i want to rebuild a motor with my uncle and i'd figure his 40 years of all car all the time experience would help me. i figured i could just get those three pieces, and rebuild every inch of the motor. he works for a shop that does all types of engine work for any thing that runs on gasoline, so i have the resources to do it. i dont plan on running the engine anytime soon, but i want to build one that will kick *** without a turbo. although i love that BOV... mmmm sounds delicious. my B!^A has no low end torque, and that what im mainly looking for. maybe supercharg it.. hehe.. and run ridicolus amounts of boost... i donno.. it could happen. here i come lisa kubo ... 's little sister.. mwuhahaha

Can't believe I came across someone else that's said that. I knew a guy that said he had a gsr block and a h series head. We don't talk anymore.

this is awesome dude, i think you should swap in a 18b out of a mazda rx9, with a ITR tranny, and of course, a GSR head with a supercharger running 10lbs of boost, and turbo running like 12lbs of boost. then run a rubber hose from the NAWS bottle to your intake manifold. when your racing, just open that bottle up and hold on, just like on F&F. can anyone else back me up on this one? ive only seen this in 2 other cars, but you'd be the most badass brother in the whole parking lot
