Default Is this a good deal on this civic ?

I found this 1995 EX coupe for sale. He is asking $1600 for it. Its a manual and he told me the engine was rebuilt about 20k miles ago which isnt a big deal as long as it runs fine. He told me it has a salvage title due to theft. He also said it has a check engine light due to a bad O2 sensor, but I plan on jumping the wire to pull all the codes for myself.

Other than that it has power windows and locks with cold AC.

If its only a bad O2 sensor or any other MINOR repairs(I work on cars and can swap engines and transmissions) then is this a decent deal ? Or what should I be paying for this car?

Any tips are greatly appreciated!

salvaged titles are a hassle IMO. When you go to sell it thats gonna be a downfall and i think it makes your insurance go up but im not putting my word on it.

sounds like a pretty nice price. that of course is making the assumption that its not rusted all to hell, and that the o2 sensor is the only reason for the cel.

Yeah I would like to assume there is no rust because it is Socal. And that CEL I would have to check my self for any other codes hes not telling if there are any.

What do you think if I were to offer $1000-1200 ? Because I would have to repair the CEL still and the salvage title I can argue right ? haha

if that was here, and i had the money, I would buy it. for a ex. thats deals. just double check the motor. and check the ecu. if its not a p28 and not a stock motor you might be able to talk him down a couple hundred more.

for 1600 as long as your happy with it, the salvage title is fine, because im assuming this is agonnd be just a dd. I only care about salvage titles when its on a car that i plan to mod or to spend a lot of money on.

I sold my green 1993 coupe with a grey fender and dents in each door for $1900. But the interior was mint and the Z6 was in the best condition for 150k miles.

Ill see how it turns out. If I can talk him to 1000 -1200 then ill probably scoop it up. For 1500-1600 I think it should be phisically in one full color shape haha.
