Default Is this a good deal for a b16hatch?

I had a 95 coupe with a b18c that was totaled a little over a month and a half ago. My motor and everything that I put into the car came out fine luckily, but I was left with no car. I just found a guy who is selling a 92si hatch that has b16a2 with civic type r cams, type r flywheel, act clutch, intake, magnaflow piping and muffler, it has black gsr cloth seats, jin coilovers?, tokico struts, sunroof, rear disc brakes, cruise control, powersteering, gsr ecu, obd1 vtec wireharness. He is in desperate need for money and this is what he offered me: I give him $1,000 and my b18c for his car. I would love to keep my motor but he doesnt have enough time/money to get his motor taken out and it would be hard for me to take the stuff out of the car for him because I live about 2hours away. Should I accept this deal, try to find SOME way to get my motor in it, or just keep looking for a better deal? Any feedback would be great because I dont know if this would be a good deal for me or not? Im just nervous that its a b16(torqueless wonder). Thanks!

I think you would be better off buying a shell for that B18c, but thats just me...

thats how i started talking to him is bc at first he was selling the shell but then he decided he wouldnt be able to take the motor out so he offered me that deal instead....Ive been searching so much for a shell but have had NO luck, or the people have just wanted to much for it. I know that it is good to wait but I realllllyyyy need a car. Its hard when u live 20miles from work, friends and stores and have no car.

If you don't feel good about it don't do it. Personaly I think it's not to bad of a deal. A motor and a grand, and you get a running car with a built b16. Not to shabby

he offered you the deal because he WANTED the B18! Well whatever his reason is, you're better off keeping your B18 and finding a shell.

...except the car probally isn't worth that much like the b18c5 is(well, depending on the miles I guess). Ushally, even with all the mods, the car will go down in price. But if you want it, go for it.

For that amount of money I would just buy a clean hatch and pay the shop 1000 dollars to put in the b18c5. Think about it, you can pick up a nice 92 hatch for probally about 2500, pay the shop to put it in, you still get your b18c5 AND you have a new clean hatch

Just my thoughts

I'm telling you, keep the B18 and get a shell for it, you will regret it if you take that offer.

By a stock hatch for like 2k-3k and swap the b18 in... I wouldnt want a car that someone else built unless I really new the person that built it. But then whats the fun in that anyway?

does anyone know where i can find a shell in the orlando area? ive searched non-stop for the last month and a half. Ive only got $1000, could possibly make it stretch to $1,500 but it would be really hard.

Thats true to, you don't know how he has driven it. Some people who have slightly modded cars sometimes think they drive indy cars. ^_^

Actually, if you could do trade without the extra 1000 it might be worth it... you still wouldn't know exactly what your getting, but it sounds like your desperate for a car and if you can't buy a body, it would probally be worth it for you.
