Default is this a good deal?

I forund a 1997 honda civic EX, 2 door, manual and its got a sunroof , manual tranny and its black buy its got 110,000 miles on it and no dohc vtec buy its in the higher end of my price range at $5900 . I just wanted to know if this is a good deal with the milage ( I know hondas run forever) and what kinda performance can I expect out of this sohc motor. kelly blue book says the ex has vtec?? huh, it thought only SI's came with it. I drive an 1988 toyota camry with a brand new tranny and its got 107,000 miles on it buy the milage is horrable with the v6 and automatic. I like the civic due to its sportier nature and the fact that its a 5 speed= more fun to drive. Any tip would be helpful and btw wwhats the engine code on the 97' ex? b18?
