Default Good/Bad Feedback On A 1992 Civic Hatchback VX?

Like the title say...I did search, and it came out like 228 results.

I just bought a clean title 1992 Civic Hatchback VX with a D15B Vtec Motor.

Is their any good/bad feedback on a VX model?

Thank

good - rear diffuser, front chin lip, VTEC wiring, 5-wire O2 sensor and EGR(with swap you are left with three extra wires which works great for knock sensor or IAB control or wht ever you need a wire from the engine bay to the ECU for...)
stock form has great mpg. 45+

bad - no sway bars, rear drum brakes, sits like a 4x4, 5wire O2 sensor is $$$ to replace, and no one has heard of a VX at a parts store.
there are some oddities about the 92 VX specifically. mainly some wire colors do not match the honda manual.

I love my 92 VX

dont listen to him.

if i could have any model civic, i would chose a vx. they're lightweight, they have the oil warmer/coolers, aluminum mounts, rear diffusers, etc.

a strong d-series in a 92-95 vx/cx hatch is pretty quick

I love my VX, although the only thing that makes it a VX is the VIN.

I love my 92 VX hatch. It has nice looking, light weight wheels. They have the smooth body lines(no trim along the side). They are lighter than the average hatch. They have an oil heater/cooler. Roller rockers. Some other things that were just made for the VX(out of EG's). Most of the interiors are black. I think they are the best stock looking hatches(when lowered). They get exceptional gas mileage when stock.

What are your intentions for the car? If you are going for performance the 1st thing to do is to get another tranny(NO S40's...get an EX/SI or even a DX).

I forgot to mention they have a 2 piece exhaust mani...and if you stick like a Z6 head on it the compressions drops to like 8 to 1(perfect for turbo). Plus the wideband.

I have had 2 VX's and I love them. Great MPG stock and they have a ton of different swaps you can do for them. Take care of the car and don't f.uck it up. Clean unmolested EG's are a dying breed.

so the oil warmer is stock? I always thought my vx came from up north or sumthin. When i first saw a electrical cord tucked under the front bumper, i was like "huh?"

anyways i love my vx gas mileage

pros: lightweight, great canidate for boost or swap then boost, great gas mileage unless you get a **** one like me and get under 40mpg and still complain, prewired for vtec.

cons: SLOW AS A METRO, gearing stinks, cost of the LAF sensor that frequently goes bad is outrageous, more wiring when swapping, some parts are hard to find local.

last but not least, i can believe nobody mentioned vtec-e lag. you will hate this. its the most common post about vx's. when you hit the throttle while cruising it will stumble a second before SLOWLY accelerating. do some searching on vtec-e, its neat, but a pain in the *** sometimes.

If that is a VX, what's with the side moldings? Did you add on the passenger mirror, becaus VXs didn't come with one?

I have a feeling that there are more like this than actually sporting true VX trim...
mine included.

passenger mirror was an option on the VX, much like A/C and side moldings.
they are common in that order as well.

all though something about the space between the molding on the drivers door and the fender makes me wonder if they were not added to it later...

trust me, its a VX, you can feel the curse of the Z1 lol

they whereprobably added by the dealership but my moulding fell off once and there are no holes for clips. i have the diffusers, and the lip, the VX shiftlight, the Z1(ew) the 6,250 rpm fuel cutoff and the lack of half the sound deadening material. trust mee, she aint pretty, but she's a VX

That is an Engine Block Heater, But Most likely, it is OEM because its an option.

They are speaking of the oil cooler on the back of the engine block, like DOHC VTEC motors have.

the oil cooler is the sandwich plate between the oil filter and the block. the block heater is the plug in heater. and YES, i know why the vx stumbles.
