Default Good aftermarket cruise control?

Anybody know of a good aftermarket cruise control? I have a crummy one in my Civic right now and it's like the proportional gain is too high, and the pid controller isn't stable. It will straight up knock itself out of cruise. I haven't checked to see if it's adjustable but I know some out there are.

Any recommendations appreciated

Hm, the wiring should be there if you're adventurous.

My tacoma came with the Rostra kit from PO.

Just look for the civic specific version.

There's always an OEM cruise control retrofit .... If you're planning to DIY an aftermarket one, then DIY-ing an OEM will be a nicer retrofit.

Put the OEM cruise control in. I put it in my VX (not offered in VXs either, go figure). Works perfectly. There are some good threads, although at the moment, I cannot find the one I used. I still have my notes if you are interested.

Warning, it is a lengthy process, but not too technical.

The 6th Gen cruise retrofit install is different enough that it deserved its own DIY, however it's conceptually similar enough to the 5th Gen one.

OP verify that you see a 4 pin connector somewhere by your driver side motor mount and p/s reservoir.

What’s the general life expectancy of an OEM cruise control servo?

The life of the car.

FYI, I doubt it's pre-wired for cruise. I've never known Honda to do this for cruise, and almost nothing is pre-wired except the occasional optional feature.

My 92 had vtec, rear speakers, and clock pre-wired, after that Honda said *** it, not doing that again...

rosta has a kit but its 300 bucks., I think I can pull everything from the junkyard from a 5spd for way less, this probably won't work for the auto because the hx uses a cvt transmission.

Cruise doesn't tie in to the transmission so much except to monitor RPMs ... the CC brains are programmed to monitor this but it will still function fine without the exact CC brain for that engine/trans combo.

All I had to do to retain my cc in my swap was to hook up my speedometer output from my ECU to it.

Hm, why does the automatic cc module have a wire going back to the ecu?

Is that for the module to be able to tell if the car is in drive, or does that come from the gear selector?
