good 2000 civic si replacement?
Hey all,
I'm considering buying a 2000 civic si w/ 200k miles, and the guy says it'll need a clutch soon. I can get a replacement from advance auto for $215, but is there a good aftermarket clutch for a comparable price?
Thanks

exedy stage 1; a little better, won't kick the **** out of your leg, and feels much better than a stocker:

or the OEM replacement exedy, which is in fact what many OEM manufacturers use:
sorry, one i posted is for a single cam. you will want a replacement clutch kit for a B16A2

Thanks for the info, I was thinking exedy too, but wasn't sure. I'll probably go w/ the stage 1 clutch as I prefer a littler firmer feel than stock.

Be careful of short shifters; don't really do much and IMO take away shifter feel. Not to mention they break a lot. Be careful of that car also BTW, if the clutch is going bad it's probably been raped. And thats a lotta miles.

From an experienced user with the exedy stage 1, its perfect. As for the flywheel,i'd just keep it stock becuase you already have short gears.Thats also depending what your future plans are with the car.

The clutch could be going bad simply because the fact it has high mileage. If most of that mileage was done in the city, even if they drove it nicely, that clutch is just plain worn out from all the miles.
