Default this is gonna sound stupid but i need to know.

ok so i know some of the trims like ex lx dx but i dont know wut kind of car u are talking about when u say ur ek or eg or wutever. like wuts a vx or an hx and wut does si-r stand for i need to know the lingo better. pleeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzz help me, teach me, i am ur grasshopper. thanks and have a wonderful day.

Or you could just be helpful since you can search for EK or EG becuase they are less than 2 letters in lenghth. I hope you get some percentage points deducted.

To the OP here is a post that will help you out a little. EG and EK are chasis codes for the different years EG is used for 92-95 civic (most often it is used incorrectly) and EK for 96-00.

Those are different trim levels that the hondas come in. Much like a Camero comes in RS, Z28, SS it is the same basic idea.

lots of info available for each year and trim level....for future reference to you and everyone else new here, searching ht and google and using some common sense can answer majority of the questions asked in this forum. Since honda tech can't search two letter words...use google to search honda tech, it crawls majority of the site and will let u find two letter searching most of the time

edit: forgot to mention...msn autos doesn't list whether an engine has VTEC, but if you go to kbb.com and search for the blue book value of the car you're interested in, it will display whether the engine has VTEC or not on the page where you enter the milage. isn't the interweb amazing
