Going to the muffler shop...what can I expect to spend?
I need bigger piping on my exaust. Right now I have the stock CX piping from the header back to a straight through muffler.
I think its restricting my power a fair bit, so thats why I want to get a pipe made.
No cat, just straight pipe.
oh the loudness
I believe it will be a smooth compression bend, and not mandrell bent. If I can get a mandrel bent pipe I will opt for it.
So does anyone know what I should expect to pay before I make a trip to the muffler shop?
I would go and ask, but the closest shop is 30 miles away.

Around $100 for the piping not including the muffler. You can also get a resonator for about $30 to make your car sound a little better (get the longest one possible ~30in.)

Why not call? If its only 30miles away im sure there in the local phonebook. but my guess is around $75.00 + price of resinator.

I got 2.25 mendrel bent, 3 peices, just like any cat back for 148. They welded flanges to each seperate part, so it's 3 seperate peices. So I have a pipe with resonator, then the mid section, then an axle back.

KTeller sells really nice mandrel bent systems. If you're gonna go to the local exhaust shop, be sure to have a resonator put on. If not, it will sound like the typical POS bumble bee sounding Honda out there..

I dont have a resonator and my exaust sounds pretty good!
A cat is for emisions and there are no emmisions regulations in SC.
I know a shop that will do it....I am thinking of going up This weeekend.

LOL of course they all follow the rules...
The muffler shops around here tried to get me to weld my cat, header and midpipe as one piece because they didnt have the gaskets...
Thats after i told him i wanted the cat because he also suggested that i should replace it with a flex pipe.. LOL
They do whatever they can to get your money..

Not true, I know of about four shops where I live that will do it. Hell, my old car had no cat on it until I got a citation for it, and even then It was just clamped in and I could take it and run straight through whenever I felt like it.
