Going MAD!
Okay I posted about the whirring noise or whatever coming from my car earlier I know but I have an update. Whenever I crank my car from a full cold like a 2 hour sit. I have this anyoing whirring noise coming from around my powersteering area. It continues to whir as the engine rpms go up. When I come to a stop light i can hear what seems to be my pump, making a slight gurgling noise.
I got home, a 10 minute drive from work let the car run, whirring still there but not has dissapted a lil bit(still kinda loud). Popped hood listen to pump and the whirring were coming from right there. Turned off car went inside got ready for bed and whatever and come out about 35 minutes later to start my car and let my dad hear it. Then the noise hardly seems to be there. Its slightly there when I turn my wheel. Not near as bad as what it was.
Same thing happned when I went from school to home(shut car off). (start up)then to my mechanic, barely heard it on the ride there. Then went away completly except for a ever so slight noise when turning the while at a dead stop while hood was poped.
Sorry for the long post guys, but I think it is that when the pump gets warm then rests. It pumps better? or something along those lines. Or maybe it is something else?
Oh yeah when starting from a cold start the steering wheel squeaks at me a bit when I turn at very slow speeds.
HELP!

Re: Going MAD! (megaman096)
go to any parts store and ask for belt dressing. just pour some all the way around the belts. dont know if it will help or be a waste of a couple bucks but its your choice

i think its your pump i rember this from auto class but that was 2 years ago. but yea im pretty sure. buy a belt first if your not sure that way when you buy a new pump you will have a new belt also

Re: Going MAD! (slow94coupe)
Does the pitch of the noise increase as your rpm go up? If so, it's probably the pump. If it's a constant "squeal" it's probably the belt. Whirring is usually a pully sound, which indicates a bad bearing in the pump assembly.
My advice is to scrap the PS system all together. Fugg it. I hate power steering.
