Default give it gas and it dies!!!

I have a 93 civic dx hatch and we just changed the head gasket. I drove it around town a couple of times, but now when I go to start it, it starts out great, but anytime that I give it gas it dies on me. I have switched the dizzy, i have checked the cat thinking it might of been clogged, but nothing. The car is completely stock. Any help would be great guys.

You might have swapped the TPS and MAP plugs. Or you may have swapped some other plugs. Honda uses a lot of the same shape plugs in the same area for different sensors/outputs.

The TPS and MAP plugs will plug into each other. So check that.

Also, check that the car is getting enough fuel. Unplug the FPR vacuum line to make it run stupid rich and see if that helps. You may have put the fuel rail feed line on incorrectly.

the TPS plug is in tight, I will have to check to see if I swapped those two plugs around. The timing is on ( used a timing gun) and it is gettin fuel, b/c when I turn on the car it idles fine. Just when I step on the gas then iT dies. I will go and try to switch the TPS and MAP plugs see what happens. The worst is that it wont start at all right?

it will start either way, jus wont drive if it has the wrong plugs plugged up, just remember.........if ur switchin the plugs u have to reset the ecu so its reads everything the right way otherwise it will still read the cel code

MAP sensor or a ground (car will start with 2 grounds unplugged but it will die with a hint of load) checked empirically

Unplug MAP sensor and see if it makes any difference (you will get a code so be prepared) if it doesn't make a difference it is more than likely your MAP (source known working MAP of your buddy and test again)
