Ghetto lug conversion
Okay I know this is totally ghetto but I am wanting to convert to 114.3 specifically for a set of wheels not for the brake upgrade at all.(if it even is an upgrade over 99-00 si) I have found a set of wheels that is IMPOSSIBLE to find and they are unfortunately 114.3 intead of 100. They are brand new and otherwise perfect... also cheap. I am curious if it is possible to simply swap the bearing/hub assembly out of an accord/prelude into my knuckles to make this work. I dont need any **** about it because I am not worried about the brake upgrade. I know I have seen this done before and would like some real info from someone that has real experience with it. Thanks

Re: Ghetto lug conversion (Hondizzle!)
Yeah, there are hub conversions available for drag applications to use the larger snout cv joint from Accords and Preludes. I can't recall what company sells them though....it's been a while.

Re: Ghetto lug conversion (RC000E)
something like that is all I am looking for. Perhaps if the prelude bearing is the same size I could simply swap the bearing into the knuckle and then use 99 si rotors redrilled so that the calipers can remain the same. I realize too that I would have to do a hybrid axle. Has anyone done anything like this before? any help is GREATLY appreciated.

How much is that going to run you if you do it the ghetto way. Isn't the whole kit 3 bills. Prob. not giving you pointers on how to do it the ghetto way, but i'm giving you an opinion

the bearing cant be the same size because the prelude and accords use bigger cv snouts. the only way i know of is the brake swap, or the hub conversion previously mentioned, which requires special hubs, studs, bearings, and cv axles, its like $1000 swap, so might as well do the brake swap.

Re: Ghetto lug conversion (Hondizzle!)
your better off going to Hmotorsonline.com and buying a 96 ITR conversion. It's just $300+shipping. you just need to put on the the rear hubs and rotors and the front knuckles and rotors. the rest of your brakes should bolt up.

Re: Ghetto lug conversion (Cvic90)
Alright thanks for all of your help guys to be honest I havent even looked at the REAL conversion much and I was just under the impression it would be more than that... like a 5 lug. I will probably just do as stated and pick up the wheels and then do the conversion the right way later on. I just thought maybe there was a shortcut. Thanks again for all of your help.

its ok... you dont have to be happy about it. Just know they are good enough for me to sell my spoons for and convert. I would rather wait to tell until I had them on
