Default Getting wax off trim parts

Hey guys is there any way to get wax off trim parts .... Like the stock hb wing or the side molding ...... How do you get wax off when you get it on there .. I have tried water and soap .. but I dont want to get too abrasive for fear of damaging it .. is there a trick to gettting this white crud off ?

Thanks

NS

The only way I've been able to get it off is to rub it with a dry clean cloth this heats up the wax so it melts again then the cloth usually absorbs most of the wax left on there. Only problem is that if you do this too hard or too often it'll ruin the trim.

Good Luck

Will any kind of cloth do? I have wax on my side moldings from 3-4 months ago.

Hey there is one way that I heard works when trying to get wax off of trim, like the rubber mouldings around your windshield and stuff. I heard that if you take some baby oil and put a little of it on the wax and take a toothbrush and just scrub the rubber moulding, it will come out. On your car mouldings, I just kinda scrape it with your fingernail, it comes off pretty easily and it wont scratch your ride.

Warm water and a toothbrush is what i use most of the time....sometimes ill use Armor All because I don't give a **** about my paint job cause it blackens up the moldings while removing the wax (I'm lazy)

I always spray a lil bit of PB Blaster (WD-40 would probably work too) on a towel and scrub a little.. comes right off.

Yeah, if its on the trim parts I just get a dry rag and rub it off with a little force.
Or I put the rag on the trim piece and use my fingernail through the rag to scrape it off with out scratching anything. If that makes sense at all.

Peanut butter does work, I use it on my Civic when I get any residual wax or excess wax on parts other than the metal body. I heard this from another automotive forum on the internet, and it DOES work. Just don't start applying Smuckers Strawberry Jelly on top of it, and you'll be ok.

You need to get your feelings off your sleeve, or you won't last long here.

Peanut butter taking off wax. Your dad may have HEARD it, but the guy who thought of it was definately high as a kite when he first tried it. If you can't understand the joke, then you're in trouble.

The sarcasm wasn't clear enough in that. Now that I know you got it, I can see it, but I didn't see it before.
