getting new wheels on my civic
hey guys, i am wanting new wheels for my ej8. i wanted to get these:
yea, i know theyre drag. but im a college student. and college student=no money, so this is all i can afford. i was just wanting some opinions of how the wheels would look. i dont want anything smaller than 16". ive always been a sucker for bigger wheels. idealy, i would want 17" but i dont think this style would look right that big or if they even offer 17s. im currently on 18" enkeis
just tell me what you think about the STYLE of wheels. not the brand. trust me, if i could afford works, id get em. thanks!
(what mine looks like as of right now)
please dont bash me for liking bigger wheels

17" is too big on a Civic. It just is. It looks waaaaaay oversized, and the ride is harsh. I've never ever seen a 17" wheel on a Civic that I've liked the look of.
Other than that, I actually really like Drags, and Rotas, and and other quality knockoffs. I don't care, there's no way I'll ever afford to roll with the trust fund kids in Appearance/Cosmetic. I'd rather have a car that I'm not afraid to drive. I've always liked those particular wheels in 15" on EGs for some reason.
What color is your car? Gold wheels are okay if it's red, white, black, blue... will probably work if it's any color other than Vogue Silver. If your car is silver, get polished or gunmetal.
My $0.02

i wanna get the work equip 03's but i cant afford em either. dont go any bigger than 16 OP. A set of lowering springs wouldnt hurt the overall look of ride (unless u already have em). IMO

Re: getting new wheels on my civic
yea, money is tight for me right now. im helping my brother (markspan6243@yahoo.com, long name i know haha) buy a buddy club spec II for his sol. cause im a nice guy haha. and i know everybody says 17 is too big, and i agree only because i will be lowering my car before IA '10. if i wasnt going to lower my ej, id no doubt get 17's. my car is CGP btw. ive always liked gold/bronze wheels on cgp. heres another pic of my ej with my current wheels, wrapped in nitto neo-gens 215/45 (im pretty sure)
plus, you guys wont believe the deal i got on the 18's
100$ for all four, none were bent, had like 60% tread on the nittos. only has minor curbage that can be fixed easily. im just lazy hahah

Yeah 17 are just ginormous. Im all about the dr20s. [i think thats what drag calls em] and im a huge sucker for bronze. 15s would be flawless IMO.

Re: getting new wheels on my civic
yea, theyre called dr-20's. the only reason i wanted 17's ic because i have 18's on my civic atm. i just like the look of big wheels.
but i understand that theyre not practical. but there is no wayyy im going to go 15". thats just too small for me. i had 15" bmw wheels on my car for a few days and it looked god awful. but thanks for your input guys! keep it coming along with comments n such. ill post more pics of my car if you all would like.
i think next spring youll see my car with the new wheels and not at 4x4 status haha.

^^if that's ur car up there, and your gonna get those DRAG rims, i suggest u lower ur car at the same time. it wont look as good if your car is riding stock height and u throw smaller rims on it than it has now

Sell the wheels you have now for a profit, put back the stock ones and continue saving for something nicer.
