getting ecu chipped redline ideas?
going to get my ecu chipped and base mapped at pherable. was curious if i should keep my revlimit stock. the engine is a d16z6 stock valve train. port matched, hondata im gasket. CAI headers and 2.25 in exhaust throttle body coolant bypass. going to be running a 50 wet shot. would i get any benefit out of changing the stock red line?

Dude just get a dyno tune, I got a basemap from phearable, it ran worse than the stock ECU... I have b16a2 skunk2 stage 1 cams, valvetrain, exhaust, intake, etc...
It is terrible, it idles awful runs more rich than with the stock tune, vtec engages later, car won't even start sometimes...

It doesnt matter even if you had a built valvetrain. D motors arent made to rev. you start taking it to 8k+ (even with a built valvetrain) and before you know it u torched the bottom end. Spun a bearing, ****ed up the crank, threw a rod, etc. Normally though you spin a bearing when you start over revving it. Unless its fully blueprinted weighted and balanced its not worth it to start ****ing with the redline. My Redline is @ 7400. Basically stock head with a built bottom end. I shift @ 7 or 7200 when I'm racing. other than that I dont even take it that high.
Keep your redline stock so that you dont blow it up.

wait till you get nitrous, THEN go tune it. I hate to tell you, but your car is stock, theres nothing major done that requires a tune. Now you can usually squeak a few more HP out of stock setups with tuning, but just replacing it with a "basemap" tuned chip isnt gonna help you.

my phearable basemap wasnt bad. I got like 29 city mpg with a b16 and gsr cams. But now i am running a p30. I wouldn't get yours chipped though you don't need it.
