Default Getting brake discs off

Just need a little help. I have gotten the caliper off the front disc. I just cant get the disc off to replace it. I know you need to take out the 2 screws, but I cannot get these out. I have tried it by hand, cordless drill, and a powerful drill.

Are there any special tricks to getting these screws out? I really need to replace my disc. Thanks for the help.

Does it use air power? I just got a compressor so that would work. Do you know how much it would cost?

autozone has it for about 20 bucks. no it doesnt use air. its like a chisel and everytime you hit it with a hammer, the head spins.

many people just take a drill and drill out the screws if they strip them....they do relatively nothing anyway....its the wheel that holds the rotor tight !!!!

Yea, I used lube for one and they came right off. Then the other one I stripped it like a dirty ***** and had to drill it. After that EVERYONE started to tell me about the impact driver.

last time i did my brakes the impact driver worked on about 1/2 the screws and then the bit broke
I ground out the rest of the screw with the dremel

I had to drill a set out once but was able to get out the remainder of the screw. I was using the impact driver but with a rubber mallet. I guess it wasint providing a sharp enough blow.
So with that said use a ballpein(spelling?) hammer with the impact driver.

Sorry for the poopy pic but its all i could find.

Just get the right size Phillips head screw driver. I think it is a #3 or a #4 and it will come right out.

I went to the local hardware store and they had no idea what an impact driver was. Luckily, I was able to borrow one. Got the front discs off no problem. Now just gotta put the rear drum i took apart back together.

wanna know a trick? get a sharp ice pick and put it on the edge where the screw meets the metal of the rotor say 9 oclock and angle the ice pick like 45 degrees so its facing the ground , and hit the ice pick with a big hammer.. the point will dig into the screw face and since your pointing it toward the ground slightly itll break the screw loose and itll spin, then you can unscrew it easily,
this is what we do at the shop when an impact screwdriver isnt handly.. itll even remove them if the center is totally stripped out.
