getting better gas mileage??
what do you guys do to get better gas mileage. I've noticed i've basically been pumping gas every 2-3 days, its killin my wallet.
What are some small things that can be done to improve the mileage?
thanx

What year car/motor/mods do you have? I'd start with checking how many miles i get per tank. You could be driving a lot for one...or a tune up could be something to look at.

try just your basic tune up, oil, plugs/wires and a cap and rotor. I get anywhere between 260 and 300 per tank of gas (city driving)

92 civic si with b16 swap
171,000 miles
i don't drive that hard unless i'm in the mood, but i try not to work my engine unless its called upon.
if i recall correctly that year civic si got 11.9 gallons per tank, can't remeber the mileage though.

what ecu? what type of other mods? cat? air box? fuel injectiors? type of oil? wheels? tranny?
first pull out your spark plugs and see whats happening? rich or lean or simply weak spark
then change the fuel filter, run some fuel injector cleaner, next get a new 02 sensor, check your air filter/pcv system, then again check your spark plugs
check your MAP or change to another one, try some different injectors, check your CAT might be pluged up as well....
remember that there alot of components that affect gas mileage, outside of the motor as well wheel size/weight, aligment settings, brakes drag
