Default Getting a 1996 civic dx with a b16a swap today :)

Hey everyone. Im new to this forum and just wanted to introduce myself.
2 month ago i had a 2000 civic ex auto and sold it in order to get a e39 bmw 540i 6speed. Loved that car but not being able to go to GMR and willson (Mountain roads) drove me crazy so decided to get rid of it and get myslef a civic again. At first i was looking for a 2000 Si but didnt find any god ones in my area and then came across this civic dx with a b16a swap.
So, in about two hours ill be trading my bmw 540i 4.4 liter v8 for the 1.6 liter i4 and probably will go to GMR tonight

Im from SoCal btw.

GMR as I understand it is a downhill run area for alot of canyon runners

As much as a 540i can accelerate the narrow downhill conditions wouldnt be its ideal setting

A small, light car with quick reflexes and lots of stick would be better suited to GMR

When I was making downhill runs I really enjoyed being able to push my EG/EKs....in my Z I am always hesitant of not getting too sideways down the mountains ...in a 540 I would imagine if its pushed it wont be as forgiving as a civic or a Z.

Have fun with the Civic

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

So i went to see the civic yesterday and outside it was pretty good, had a 2000 Si conversion in front and rear, the engine was pretty strong and tranny was amazing BUT the interior was just trash. Many panels were missing, Speedo wasn't working, the entire car was rattling like HELL when i test drove it so i didnt do the trade.

But im all over craigslist right now looking for an SI or at least a 1999/2000 ex with suspension mods.

Will keep you updated on my search results.

Oh and if you guys want to laugh a little bit, go to this link and read what people responded with after i told them ill be trading my 540i for the civic.

Also correct, GMR is a REALLY tight canyon road located about 30 miles north east of Orange county in California. Its not just a downhill run, it is also a really nice uphill climb. (My favorite part is downhill tho)
When i had my AUTOMATIC 2000 civic ex with only tires upgraded, i would take it there about 2 times a week. About 1 weeks before i sold it, i destroyed EVO 9 down there ( and we have 3 witnesses too ) Then teh same day let my friend drive it and he crashed into a wall (third crash the civic had to go through on gmr lol)
