General question
I am a gm guy. just so you know.
I will be working on a friends honda civic however.
he wants me to do a few modifications along with replace a cracked cylinder head.
Things i'm curious about.
It is a 98 honda civic. base model. 1.6L. automatic.
1. Are there any big things to watch out for.
IE: Watch out for the head gasket on 2.2L GM. Or the intake gasket on the 3.1L v6
2. How can i figure out which engine code it is? B series or D, or what?
3. What the torq spec and the torq sequence is for this engine.
4. Any other pertinant information.
Any helpful reply is greatly appreciated.

Re: General question (plunderbunny)
The motor is a 1.6 D series, you'll see an engine code on the block when you look straight down the front of the motor on the distributor side.
A helms manual would make the job really easy for you, especially if you have some car related experience. With the manual, you'll find everything including the torque specs.
