drain it from the bottom, then take off the nut from the side and pour oil in until it starts to overflow out. then put the nut back on

Yes, please don't use gear oil in your transmission. Honda MTF will work as will 10W-30 motor oil. Good luck!

DO NOT USE GEAR OIL!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOO

and your only supposed to use 10W-30 if your in a tight pinch and REALLY need to. Even then, you should have it flushed and changed ASAP.....

That is what Honda reccomends in the manual I agree, but I promise that it makes no difference. I have ran 10W30 in my DD, and in my racecar for the last several years without an issue...ever.

I use Honda MTF just because I've had many problems with aftermarket parts and never a problem with Honda Genuine Parts, so I use the same mentality with tranny fluid. I bought 3 quarts and used a little over 2, so you need to buy 3.

You take the check plug out, then take the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) out and fill it up through there until it starts to come out of the check plug hole. Plug it up and you're good to go.

Drain from bottom bolt (square), remove top bolt (17mm) and fill by removing VSS until the fluid trickles from the the top bolt.

Oh, and don't use gear oil. That ish is toooo thick for our trannies. Castrol 10w30 conventional FTW!
