Re: gear oil
I use Honda MTF just because I've had many problems with aftermarket parts and never a problem with Honda Genuine Parts, so I use the same mentality with tranny fluid. I bought 3 quarts and used a little over 2, so you need to buy 3.
You take the check plug out, then take the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) out and fill it up through there until it starts to come out of the check plug hole. Plug it up and you're good to go.

Re: gear oil
Drain from bottom bolt (square), remove top bolt (17mm) and fill by removing VSS until the fluid trickles from the the top bolt.
Oh, and don't use gear oil. That ish is toooo thick for our trannies. Castrol 10w30 conventional FTW!
