Default Gauge question....

I have a 97 Dx, and both the fuel gauge and the temp gauge have crapped out on me. Now, I'm aware that I can swap in a whole new cluster from any of the 96-00 Civics, but what I want to do is just buy new ones from the dealer, but I want to swap out the fuel gauge with the fuel/temp gauge combo from the ex or Si. Later on I'll just buy the tach and put that in to replace the temp gauge.

My question is whether or not just swapping the individual gauges will work?

Thanks!

dont waste your money or time for that just get an si or ex one. if your going to do it do it right the first time. yes swapping out the gauges will work but I am not sure if you have both fuel gauge on what will happen but just get an ex or si.

Weeellll, the difference is that a new Si cluster will cost me at least $150 (used) and a used ex would be around $80. I can get get a brand new fuel/temp combo gauge online for less than 30. The tach would be around $50, but being that I have an autometer tach already, it's not a priority.

The Si gauges look so much better than any other civic gauges. I think you would be happier with those.

Let me repeat myself.......I'm not looking to spend $150+ on Si Gauges. ****, I can get a GSR cluster from JDM Theory for $50.
