gauge clusters
I have a 92 DX HB and i'm looking to get a cluster with a tach.
question 1.) are there any other civic models that i could pull a cluster out of?
question 2.) When i remove the cluster, i cant find all of the screws. any help there?

Only models that came with a tach...Civic EX, or Si. What screws are you referring to? Theres two above the cluster, on the cluster trim, and one behind the clock that hold the trim in place. Then theres 4 screws that hold the actual cluster in. After that, theres 2 plugs.

Any 92-95 cluster with a tach will plug right into your car, FYI
As for just replacing the tach and putting it into your DX cluster, it'll work (I know some people who did it) but then you won't have a temp gauge since that is what you'll be replacing. On the right side of the cluster, you'll just have one large gas needle instead of 2 small needles for temp & fuel.

You should invest in a Haynes Repair manual. . .section 12-12 gives you a step by step replacement procedure equiped with all kinds of useful pictures. 
I picked one up for my 1993 Honda Civic CX for about $17 at Pep Boys.
I am going to replace my cluster as well. . .let me know where you got your cluster from and how much you paid for it. . .thanks

ok, what i'm having trouble with is not removing the actual cluster, but the dash cluster around it, i found all 3 screws (am i still missing one, and i got the one under the flashers) but there are these clips behind it holding it in and i cant figure out how to unpop then, and i'de force it, but i've hard of people breakin it that way.

Sorry i did not finish reading your post......there are clips on the vent on the left. I need a tool (flat) that you can wedge in there and lossen the clip....

I would invest in the bible. . .aka Helm. . .but I don't really think that I could get the full potential. I have no experience with working on cars, and I feel as though something so in depth and complicated is somewhat pointless for ME! For $17, it tells me how to do all the general maintenance, and simple replacements on my car. If I knew anything about swapping engines and the like, I would invest in the bible.
To me, the Helm's manual is similar to a Calculus book. . .if I want to know simple math, why would I purchase a $70 Calculus book, when I could buy a $17 Beginning Math book. Both of these books talk about math, but the Beginning Math Book (Haynes) is far more easier to understand. . .and it is a hell of a lot less money.
