Default Gauge Cluster problems. Speedo and Tac problems. 92 hatch w/2000 full swap.

Hey there i have a 92 hatch with a full 2000 Full swap. There is a 5 inch tach mounted on the side that works fine however, the tach and the speedo do not work. They are plugged in in the back of the cluster but sometimes when you are driving the speedo goes backwards/sometimes it catches/ and sometimes it just does whatever it wants. Do i need a new cluster or do i need a new VSS which is a lot of money. Please some1 help me out here. Also my horn doesnt work. any help would be appreciated. For thehorn there is no power going to the horn but the horn is ok however, its the wiring that is messed up but i dont know where to look for the wiring. thanks again

Sounds like the VSS to me. Could be bad VSS or bad wiring too.

If it's a NON-USDM cluster, the wiring might be different than USDM. In my case I had a JDM cluster and USDM. The JDM would not work right when connected to the harness. I swapped the gauges from the JDM to the UDSM cluster and everything was happy.

The wiring differences were obvious when you looked at the back of the cluster.

If it's a USDM cluster. Ignore this.

nope the fuse is fine. The actual problem is i found out my SRS airbag light was on which means that the airbag might of been taken out which means thats the reason the horn got messed up, can anyone explain to me how to get to the horn wires or buttons behind the steering wheel/
thanks
