Default Gauge cluster going crazy, what could it be?

Well I have a 94 dx and the gauge cluster I had was going nuts. Sometimes it would show the correct speed I was going and then it would jump all around. Well I bought an EX auto gauge cluster with a tach on it and it worked fine at first. Then it started to do the same thing. Did I just have two bad gauge clusters? Or is it something else? A speed sensor going bad? Wiring?

sounds like maybe there could be some loose, crossed, or exposed wire connections that might have worked them selves loose. But not sure.

My friends cluster did the same thing and it was because of a loose speed sensor

that's what I was thinking because of how sparatic the needle is and the fact that it doesn't always do it, come to think of it it does it alot when I got over a bump, I'm betting that's what it is. It's making some kind of connection making the needle jump. That's my theory

I just wanted to see if there was someone else that has experienced this problem.

its the VSS, clean it out problably corroded. I had an issue with it 2 weeks ago... it would make connection sometimes... and then sometimes just stay at 0 then kick in whenever it felt like.

clean it up and it should be good.
