Default Gauge cluster is dim at idle

I have noticed at night my gauge cluster is dim with the brightness turned all the way up at a stop light at night. When i accelerate the light gets to it's normal brightness. The battery and the alternator are both new. The car is a 2000 ex coupe. What other things cause the gauge cluster to be dim?

mine does the same thing and it's normal, It just doesn't charge much at idle.

I have a 97 hx w/ 190k that has the original alternator.

Power windows , Rear defrost, Subs, A/C, P/S, Low idle, Blower Fan, and Vacuum leak that cause low idle.
Are you on your brakes when your at the light?
Check voltage on batter and ALT

the idle seems normal and it does it whether i'm on the brakes or not. The battery and the alternator are brand new.

New doesn't mean I works properly It could of been installed wrong.
can't just assume new is 100% Problem solver.
My cluster only dims when it's underload or idle drops dramaticly .
Onlything i could think of right now is Corroded wire and bad bulb

try unpinning the altc wire going to the ECU. Hondas dim the lights at idle and unpinning that wire makes it stop doing that. its #2 on connector C for your car
