Gauge Cluster/Climate Control Lighting
I need to know what is common between the gauge cluster lighting (tach, odo, gas, temp) and the climate control lighting (vent, temp, personal setting). Common things like wiring, switches, fuses, (even though im positive they are all good) and anything else ppl can think of.
The reason i ask is because neither light up, and the lights for the turn signals, high beams, check engine, etc. all light up. My gauges work they just dont light up. Im almost 100% positive that its not a fuse since i have checked everyone. All plugs are connected and I dont see any loose wires.
Any help is appreciated thanks
this is for a 99 si

didnt this thing have a major wireing issue? is it possible you hooked you something up wrong? it happens alot more then you people think.
did you test the fuese with a multi meter? they can appear good but still be bad.

see if you can get a pin out for the plugs, and test to see if any are getting 12volts.
i would just replace the fuses that have to do with the interior.

Re: Gauge Cluster/Climate Control Lighting
dimmer switch is connected?
if not... connect the dimmer switch, if a dimmer switch is not available connect the red/black wires and TA DA!
dimmer switch plug is a 3 wire plug (RED, RED/BLACK, BLACK) located to the left of the steering column.

Re: Gauge Cluster/Climate Control Lighting
yeah my point exactly... thats why im wondering if there is something they both have in common other than fuses that would cause neither to illuminate. I just find it hard to believe that both of their lights dont work

Re: Gauge Cluster/Climate Control Lighting
well do the lights that indicate which vents are in use, or if the A/C is on working? does the hazard switch light up? does the rear defrost switch work?
could be bad climate bulbs.. ive had that happen to me a few times already.
EDIT: theres also a ground where the stereo goes, make sure that's grounded.

Re: Gauge Cluster/Climate Control Lighting
the illumination doesnt work period.. the little green light for a/c lights up so does the circulation and defrost. the controls themselves work, but dont illuminate... same case with the cluster... to me that seems like a related issue

Re: Gauge Cluster/Climate Control Lighting
yeah, if none of the other lights are working its something related i'm sure.. first thing that comes to mind would be the dimmer switch, but you said yours works.. have you connected the red and black wires from the switch just to make sure thats not the problem?

Re: Gauge Cluster/Climate Control Lighting
uh, just connect your dimmer wires to each other and tape up the one left over.
change your light bulbs in ur cluster and climate controls too.
i bet you 90% all your bulbs r blown like mine was.
i didint have lights in my cluster/climate controls, only thing that lit up was my cd player.
i hacked my wires and changed clusters and hacked my dimmer switch too cauyse everybody on here said to do so.
turns out i changed the bulbs and everythiongs fine.
should check the easiest things first before u go hacking **** for a week, i promise u ur wires r fine ur jus tcreating a big headache because ppl on here tell you to..
lol
