Default gas mileage is crap!!

ok i just swapped in a obd1 dohc jdm zc into my ek (its all i could find cheap at the moment and i needed my car to run). Im running this with a p06 ecu. Im getting horrible gas mileage!! probibley like 15mpg, ive checked for leaks and found none. What are the things i should start checking?????

Well, those codes are pretty serious in terms of the ecu getting the fuel mixture right and not getting terrible gas mileage. I suggest you fix them.

code 17- VSS - speed sensor
code 6- ECT - water temperature sensor
code 7-TPS - throttle position sensor

not sure if that has to do with you getting bad gas mileage but i would fix those first

yea im gonna work on my car tonite and try to get these cels fixed. I just put a new dizzy on, i rotated it almost all the way to left, would the dizzy timing being off cause bas gas mileage? im also having trouble starting it when its cold. How do i check the dizzy timing?

Timing might do it, but I think having a bad tps and not reading the ECT is big. ECT compensation can add like 40% gas for low temps if it's reading improperly and if the TPS is messed up it could be going crazy with tons of fuel.

You need a timing light to set timing.
