Re: Gas mileage on 2000 si (Honda97)

depends on how you drive? for a daily driver that sounds horrible because i have a gsr motor in my civic with a 10.9 gallon tank i believe and even driving like a jackass all the time i still manage around 250 miles per tank.

Re: Gas mileage on 2000 si (screech)

if drive slow i get like 230. and if i punch it i get like 170. what can da problem be becasue of. and it cannot be because of the cluster because my car wouldnt start

Re: Gas mileage on 2000 si (SiKid86)

mine is 250-270 depending on if I drive mostly freeway or in town stop/go. Or if a get on it a lot I get less MPG.

Re: Gas mileage on 2000 si (Honda97)

On a full tank I can get 400 kms (about 245 miles) at the bare minimum. I've gotten as much as 430 regularly, and even did 500 all highway a couple times.

ecahatch 08-18-2004 05:46 AM

ur supposed to get to at least 300 miles per tank...

I get 360 regularly. You might need a tuneup.

that sounds like a lot to me, how many gallons do u usuall fill up? 10-10.5?

i usually fill up and takes up about 9-10 gallons at about 270-280

I've gotten as low as 210-220, but that's really low, usually Strict City/stop-go driving or higher rpm driving (auto-x, agressive)

have you run a fuel injector cleaner before? couldn't hurt to try that.

Re: Gas mileage on 2000 si (Sijray21)

Yes i fill mine up everytime from empty. I always run it until the low fuel light comes on. Keep in mind I live in WV and drive mostly 2 lane roads. I get pissed when I only get 320 on a tank. My mileage is always between 32 and 34 mpg. It depends on how i drive.

hondainspired 08-18-2004 09:52 AM

All highway miles = around... 350-400 miles to a tank.... i think i figured it for a lil over 40 MPG

City driving with a lil fuckin around= is in the 260-270 range... (miles per tank)

NGK or Denso is fine. OEM cap.

How do you know it's the plugs?

How many miles do you have on them? I think I might need to change in my car too.

Re: Gas mileage on 2000 si (Honda97)

Check compression? Could be a deeper issue thats not too bad yet. I just don't see the plugs causing that dramatic of a milage loss. Hopefully I'm wrong though.
