I have a 96 Civic DX hatch

I was just wondering if the Gas warning light acutaully work. When I turn on the ignition I don't notice the gas light come on during the test...

Also, I have never seen it come on when my tank is low. (possible bad bulb?)

So, does the gas warning light suppose to work or is it an empty blank.

I think it may only work on the ex models and 99-00 si's , i know my 99ek hatch never did

my old 96 dx hatch had a working gas light. only came on 2 times.

Doesn't it only work in JDM cars? I think there was a post long ago about wiring up something inside your gas tank to make that light actually function..

mine never came on and I would fill up $5 at at ime and ride that $5 to like 100 miles

the max i've gotten was 400+ miles per tank (all highway) and lights still not on and the hand is on E...

Fuel warning light works fine in my 2000 Si

It comes on when I drive around on E for a while. It will start flickering, and eventually light solid.

When I go to fill up the tank afterwards, it will usually take ~11 gallons.

Mine works...

I'm thinking bulb is either burnt, or you've just never let it get that low.

I haven't seen my gas light go on in about 5 years. I used to see it go on all the time when I was in high school. I have a '97 Civic EX and I bought it new. Either it stopped working or I fill up sooner now.

my dx gas light works just fine.

my LX 4 door gas light works okay. i noticed that sometimes it doesnt light up until i have about a gallon of gas left in the tank

96-00 CXs have no light.. but everything else does.. my 98 Hatch gas light goes on every week.. maybe all your guys bulbs burnt out..

I also had a 92 CX hatch and I know for a fact that it didn't have one. Hell, the damn thing didn't even come with a passenger side mirror.

The gas light in my 97 dx works.

.....check your fuse and your bulbs that might fix your problem could be the wiring though.
