As long as the needle goes back up your fine. Honda's, well at least my experience with them, tend to have a flunctuating gas needle and can lead to confusion about just how much gas you have left. Otherwise I would say its normal, mine does it everytime i pull off hard at a light...but then it goes back up. I have also heard of people having their needles go down on a turn. I dunno Honda's=Suspect at times.

i have an 00 ex and my needle drops like crazy once i get below 1/2 a tank just know where your at at a stand still and keep redoing your mileage i dont like gettin it to low so just fill when you feel the need at least thats what i do and that light only comes on when your really low on fuel

I have never seen my gas light turn on either.
My needle dips down whenever I take right turns, and goes back up after. Like everyone's said, just know how many miles you can go until you have to fill up.

My needle drops upon take off quite a bit.
Just learn your average mpg and keep a close eye on your trip odometer, my gas light hasn't come on in 3 months because once I get to 200 miles I know I have about 1.9-2.2 gallons left, that and the car gets harder to start when it gets down that low.

yea it happens. Its just the sensor in the tank i think. When i fill up mine, it takes about 2 mins for the needle to get all the way up. My bro's goes up and down like an old caddy on a bumpy road. I drive a sol, hes got a eg. I think all of them are diff i guess.

If you have an EM1, then you were right on. the tank is an 11.9 gallon tank.

Lately I have been having that same problem. I dunno why?
Like everyone else has said you have to run it down real low for it to come on in most Honda's and the gauges fluctuate quite a bit.

gotta give the pump more time to prime since there is less fuel in the tank.
my light has come on a few times but only when i was REALLY low on gas. just use your tripometer and keep an eye on your miles. im getting between 22-26 mpg on a full tank

Oh ok, it never did that last winter only seems to be happening now but it doesnt bother me that much, it always starts after a bit. As long as it starts Im happy, only thing is people look at me funny in parking lots while Im trying to start it.

could the starting issue be resolved with the replacement of the fuel filter(enginebay)?
I mean if low fuel in the tank was the sole cause of the starting issue, then the issue would have been apparent since day 1.

could be, but instead of putting the key in and trying to crank to car over instantly turn the ignition on and wait for a clicking sound. you should be able to hear the pump priming as well.

Same here, needle fluctuates* towards nearing empty but i'm used to it now. I can pretty much tell how much gas i have in my car at all times, down to the last mile because of that set up.
For the gas light, heck, my gas light doesn't come on anymore either, and i mean i could be dead empty and it wont ever pop on.

bulb might have just burnt out. I have two bulbs behind my temp/gas gauges that go on and off periodically.

Been there, done that.
Waited for a train that sat there for 40 minutes, I was worried about it starting back up so I let it run. It promptly ran out of gas.
