Default gas gauge problem

i just bought a 92 vx hatch and its all stock and i noticed that when i take a right turn the gauge goes down alot like if i have 3/4 tank it will go to under 1/2 then when i go left it goes back up to 3/4 or higher i was thinking it might be a ground problem or the sending unit. does anyone have a idea of what it could be ?

The gas does move around and so does the sending unit. If your ever going down or up a steep hill, your guage will read different. Same thing goes for long corners at higher speeds. My guage goes very slow for the first half of the tank and the last half it tends to drop very fast. It is totally normal for a guage to move when driving on different angles. If it starts to read wrong (you just tanked up and it on E then get it checked). As long as it returns to the same spot when your finished turning or have the car level again then it's all good. What is the size of the tank for the Vx? The Dx is 40L I do believe. I think it is smaller so that might have something to do with it.

You could have a problem with the sending unit. It may be becoming stuck or slow moving. You can check the voltage and signal on the unit itself. Try that and post the readings.
