Do I need to gap the NGK V power plugs for my 2000 civic ex? the model I got were the 2262 V powers.

I always hear about checking the gap and gapping the plug, but I didnt know if we had to do it right out of the box, and if so, how?

Go buy a spark plug gapper and just regap it. NGKS do come pregapped but not always specifically to your car.
For example the NGK V POWERS for GSRS are product number BKR6E-11 and the gap is .052. But they are also for a Acura Legend where the Gap is .044. The notion of a pregap is insane because a certain spark plug has lots of different applications to different cars and those cars have different gaps. All the spark plugs I buy are never gapped to my specification of .052

Are you sure about that? Have you even checked the gap before you placed them in or are you going by what the d00che over the counter said?

I've checked ALL the NGK's I've bought and ALL were gapped different and NO WHERE near the spec of 1.1mm.

I don't think NGKs come gapped from the factory. Boschs do though.

the iridiums come pregapped only because the thin *** electrode tho i think.

get a gapping tool, costs like $1 and if you can read a metric scale of millimeters, you can gap sparkplugs!

just check them, always.. don't know what may have happened to them before you got them.

I looked up the Iridium Plug part number for a GSR and look at what other some of the other applications it fit and sure enough the gaps are different. I mean its really no big deal to gap your plugs anyway.

hrm well where could I get a plug gapper, I put them in the car, and it idled better and quieter than the bosch did. If it is a buck Ill buy it and regap there at the store.

Your gap should be set at 0.044, and just be sure you got the right plugs the part number on the box should be ZFR5F-11 and the stock number should be 2262. You can get a spark plug gapper any automotive shop.

cool thanks, Hrm... .044 eh? is that inches? I thought it was metric, is that like .044cm? so it would be .44mm? Anyways, thanks a lot guys, seriously.

I'm not trying to cap but this is pretty damn easy.... if you know how to use a sparkplug socket, and know how to bend metal with a sliding gauge gapper.. it's easy.
