is it suppose to m really confuse. let me tell you what the problem is.
when i connect the fuse box it gives power to the whole metal frame of my car idk if is suppose to wen i connect my wire harness it also gives power to the engine

Re: Fuse box gives power to my car's frame

the frame does not have power. the frame and engine are ground thats why the battery is grounded to the body and the engine has ground straps to the body. it sounds like you may have a short check all power and ground wires

Re: Fuse box gives power to my car's frame

mosst of the ground cables have power running throught and when i touch them it make the sound a relay makes when it tuns on just click click click

Re: Fuse box gives power to my car's frame

when you touch them with what or to what im not really understanding. if you connect something and then your hearing clicking when nothing should be working then that means you have a short and also are the ground wires sparking when you install them that means you have a short

Re: Fuse box gives power to my car's frame

no the ground wires are not sparking, something is giving power to my chasis

Yeah. Power wires. Check your work.

Re: Fuse box gives power to my car's frame

i found the relay that makes the click when i chek power on the chasis

Re: Fuse box gives power to my car's frame

is the to turn signal power relay

grumblemarc 04-21-2012 05:28 PM

Re: Fuse box gives power to my car's frame

Dude. No one knows what you did or what you are doing. Tucks are all custom. Recheck ALL of your work! No one is really going to be able to help with this one.

Re: Fuse box gives power to my car's frame

OP: How are you determining "power in the chassis"? The ECU/radio/clock is going to draw power when the vehicle isn't running. If you really have hot to ground, you're more than likely going to start blowing fuses.

is the to turn signal power relay
Make sure your hazards and turn signals are off.

Re: Fuse box gives power to my car's frame

dashboard is off i,m using a tester lights up when i put ground from batt to chasis

Re: Fuse box gives power to my car's frame

im looking at a etm (eletrical troubleshooting manual) from honda for 96-00 civic if you have 92-96 im sure its close to the same cause thes cars are all close in make and power goes from the battery to the starter and to the fuse box at t1 to fuse 41, 80 amp fuse and on cars equiped with abs it goes to t5 fuse 61 and 62 40 amp and 20 amp

Re: Fuse box gives power to my car's frame

so start disconnecting some of the wires on that circuit one at a time till the problem no longer happens then trace that wire and see where u messed up you have a short someplace or you crossed wires somewhere

dc2nerz 04-21-2012 05:48 PM

Re: Fuse box gives power to my car's frame

ok so i put the ground wire from batt to the chasis everything is grounded but when i touch the tester to the engine wire harness the fuel pump relay does a click and thast all no sparks and no fuses burn idk if thats it...

civicsi_guy 04-21-2012 05:52 PM

Re: Fuse box gives power to my car's frame

you should probably stop touching your car. youve gone from your chasis having power to your blinker relay clicking to now touching your harness and making the fuel pump relay click. best advise, you should stop what your doing and go order a new harness and dont do another wire tuck......ever

Re: Fuse box gives power to my car's frame

You obviously messed something up real bad...My only advice to you is, disconnect the harness`s, get new ones, and have a shop install them. I`m not trying to be a downer but, after trying to read your post`s multiple times, I came to the conclusion that you sir should not be playing with electrical...A tuck should be simple..
