Default Functional but econmical parts.

Alright, so I'm not a fan of these kinds of posts but I'm a little stuck. I'm looking at replacing and acquiring a few aftermarket parts without breaking the bank or my car. So basically I'm looking for middle of the road stuff that isn't race per se but will still serve its function as a daily driver, if that makes any sense. From what I gather is that Ebay is hit and miss, mostly miss...off brands are roughly in the same category. NRG Innovations and Megan Racing seem to keep popping up rougly middle of the road. Then there is password stuff, dc sports, skunk2, tien, and many more. Just looking for any opinions and mainly to see if anyone has had experience with Megan or NRG. Thanks.

Which company you should buy from depends on what part you are talking about. All of those companies have some parts that are pretty good, and some that aren't as good as the rest.

What kind of parts are you looking at getting?

I'm looknig at strut bars, headers, fog lights, rear lips, and exhaust. Some of the things that were on the car when I got it are either worn or ebay crap, not my choice. I was looking mainly towards NRG and Megan for most of the stuff but their reputation is a little sketch. I just don't want to get bent over by a brand name...you could say that I would be happy playing an epiphone rather than a gibson.

I'm not really asking "What should I buy?" but where is a one or two stop shop to get everything that isn't crap but won't be retarded in price. I know this has been asked before and "you get what you pay for," but there are ways around that, rising vendors and such.

megan headers are pretty solid and usually good fitment.

for strut bars you can get away with anything, even ebay. all name brand strut bars are only going to be just as good as an ebay one unless they are 3-point strut bars.

ebay OEM replica foglights are usually fine too.

rear lips on ebay are also fine. look into a polyurethane one.

i've heard megan exhaust is pretty good quality as in durability and fitment, but I really don't like their mufflers. I'd recommend picking out a nicer muffler (mufflers are one of those things that you really get what you pay for, in terms of mostly exhaust tone quality) I recommend an Apex-i WS2.

Thanks for the input. I think that I just might have to pioneer a write up. Probably going to go with a WS-2. I've heard not so great things about ebay fogs, wires burning up and such. I suppose I should have brought this up in general.

Hmm. you could try Password:JDM foglights. They supposedly have good wiring harnesses.

My friend had a megan racing header and megan exhaust and never had any problems.
