Default Fully built LS/Vtec del sol wont crank properly

I have a fully built lsvtec motor that will not crank properly.

the starter spins the flywheel, but the starter just whines, not the normal br-br-br-br of the engine trying to crank, but instead the cams spin and the starter just makes a whining noise. Sounds like no compression? or timing?
or the starter?
i have oil pressure, but still wont crank right.

idk but its buggin me lol.

fresh motor, and the damn thing wont crank right. fml

helppppppp!

i ruled the starter out cause if it pops out and turns the flywheel, then it cant be the starter..

im leaning on timing because i think the valves are opening too soon and letting all of the compression out

Check for spark and fuel pressure before you go pulling out everything to get to the timing belt.

same thing happen to mine and its not starting up couple of my guys told me to adjust the timing cause if the timing jumped couple of tooth it wont create compression enough to start up so thats where im at right now

agreed!... make sure your timing marks all line up as well. Do you hear your fuel pump turn on when you turn the key to "on"?

if i had to say it sounds like timing to me also.i know the motor is built and cam gears prolly adj. the timing a lil, they could be loose also.check the cam gears,if theyre not tight enuff, well you get the picture.try just resitting the timing.if that doesnt work set the cam gears to stock setting ans start over at tdc.it it dont start with everything set at stock timing then you had an issue.regardless of cams it should still start if the the cam gears are stock.my buddy had a built ls with crower stage 2 all motor cams and he ran them with stock cam gears for like 6 months with no issues, yea it could have made more power adj. them but he was just getting the car together breaking it in cause it was not a dd.he and me do not beleive in the break-in on the dyno.that is terrible for the motor.i know people have done and had no problems but if you ask me its luck.

Always crank the engine over once by hand with the spark plugs removed to feel for any excessive tightness like something is hitting or binding, and once you've done a full rotation (720 degrees on the crank for the 360 on the cams) make sure all the timing marks line back up correctly.

Something may be assembled wrong or too tight. Who put the motor together? Your previous problem was likely timing.

Take your timing belt off and reset the mechanical timing back to all your timing marks. What exactly is done to the motor?
