Fully built engine you would have to get the following done
Intake/Header/Exhaust/Throttle Body/Intake Manifold/Cams/Cam Gears/Valves and Valve Springs and Retainers, Head Work Port and Polish/Injectors/Fuel pump/Forged Pistons/Forged Rods/ Sleeved Block/ Blueprinted and Balance Crankshaft/and some really good engine management system and lots of hours of dyno tuning and track testing and tuning....

Good man.
For all the money you'd dump into that Z6 you could get a turbo kit or a swap and make more power.
We're about to put together a fully built H22 powered hatch. Whoot!

Re: FULLY BUILDING D16Z6 (onefast93sol)
Either way to be fast on a D-series you are either running some sort of Forced Induction! But still it would be really wise to build the more so it can take more abuse and make more power cuz the engine I think will only hold to about 230-250hp before you start to break stuff....if you go turbo the most basic things to do is Piston/Rods/and get the block posted and some ARP pistons because D-series have a tendency to lift the head under high pressure also spun rod bearing is another issue so some better rod bearing would make life alot nicer!

Yes, the D series have a tendency to spin bearings at high rpms. Best thing to do about that is make sure that your rods come with the ARP 2000 hardware or are rated to rev high.
There arn't any bearings better than OEM.

They're good, but not as good as OEM. They're just cheaper.
I forgot which sponsor I had talked to, but that's basically what they told me.
