Fuel Rail Affect Fuel Consumption?

I have a b16 that would easily get over 300 miles to the tank, but I put an aem fuel rail on it and now I got 40 miles to the half tank. Would that rail affect fuel consumption?

Thanks

No, but if you fucked up your fuel pressure regulator it would affect it.

Are you blowing black smoke out of your tail pipe?

I was blowing black smoke, but not anymore. I have a b and m fuel pressure regulator on the rail. The fuel pressure guage is set at 40 psi. Any suggestions?

Since the black smoke has stopped, has your gas mileage gotten any better, or is it still the same?

The gas mileage is still pretty crummy. The fuel gauge is reading 40 psi which is what it's supposed to run at.
