Fuel Pump/Voltage problems

Ok...after a year of working on my project the day has come when i tried to start the car. key in, lights on,lights off...usual ding ding cause the door was open turn it to start no whizz out of the fuel pump... hmm check the fuse...good checkt he relay good.... it turns on..hmmm signal at the pump...none??? here is the complicated part

I have a 98 DX, but i added a 99 civic Si engine harness, complete Si dash harness, and a complete floor harness. Keep in mind junk yards cut the fuel pumpwiri8ng and leave it witrht he pump so I had to clip and soider my wiring (98 cx) back in the floor harness... did i use the wrong ground...is the ground under the driver seat even grounded enough?

test to see if your fuel pump even works - carefully put 12v direct from the battery to the pump to see if it whirs. if it does, you know it's your wiring. had the same problem, turned out i cut the fuel pump wire when i reinstalled my seat belt bolt. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emhammer.gif took me two days and a new relay to figure that out.

yeah That is todays plans run a wire from the battery or the fuse block to the pump... I can't get volts at the wires I had to soider up before the soidering... maybe the ground kinda sucks??? i hate this damn projects cars hehehehe

Ok... well i ran a wire form the battery to the pump and it worked just fine with the oem ground the pump wizzed and moved fuel to the filter an rail... car again wouldn;t start. checked for spark... (screw driver in the end and held it near a ground) almost noting!!! put my 99 itr distributor on my buddies GSR and it ran just fine, also tested the PGM-fi on his car and it worked.. somethins is wrong with the wires... Wow, don't be bitter now https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emhammer.gif Sometimes, people who can help don't see the thread. You should have picked up a Helm by now and followed the step by step flowcharts for troubleshooting wiring problems.

Haynes does not = Helms. No where near the quality of instructions and explanations in the manual and may explain why you weren't able to narrow down the problem. Pick up a Helms next time. Hopefully the car shop can figure it out for you.

Well the mech found it to be one wire shorting out and blowing ECU fuses left and right. I wish I had any clue which one it was. I purchased a 99-00 civic Si dash wiring harness in hopes i would not have these problems... https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emthdown.gif

Re: Fuel Pump/Voltage problems (chrisir19)

turned out to be black wire on the engine to dash wiring onthe driver side..i have to check with the mech to see which wire and what it controls unless you have some ideas..
