fuel pump ?'s

im thinking of swap out my old sohc fuel pump for a gsr fuel pump my friend had laying around. im running an h22 setup. Theirs nothing wrong with my current fuel pump, it runs ok. but my friends was telling to swap out the pump for the gsr he gave me, so i could get more fuel to my motor.

1. should i swap out the pump for the gsr pump ?
2. the pump has been laying around for some time, if i swap it out what maintenance should i do on it before install ?

well, do you need more fuel to your motor? Unless you're planning an upgrade in the near future or there's something wrong, i'd probably leave it be.

doesnt the h22 require more fuel then my stock fuel pump can provide ? but if i upgrade my fuel pump, then i need to do the fuel line and injectors to rigoht ?

A fuel pump will not do you any bit of good without regulating the flow, because the regulator is still gonna open at 40-50psi and let all that fuel go back to the tank.

A civic fuel pump should be capable of flowing enough fuel for an H22, its rated at 120PSI max pressure and has good flow. If your paranoid use the H22 pump (not sure if it fits in the cradle.

Got a buddy with a stock 94 EX pump and an H22 with 54PSI at redline....

Re: (rpared01)

When my stock fuel pump burned out, I replaced it with a GSR pump. It has slightly higher flow specs. It has not made one bit of difference because as someone said, it all comes down to the fpr. I completely forgot about it until I saw this post. Maybe if I increased hp until the fuel pump was at it's limits... But either way, it was readily available and cost the same as a direct replacement so I don't regret it.
