fuel pump not priming up

fuel pump not priming up
I have a 93 and when I cut the car to the on position the fuel pump does not prime up it may take a couple seconds to taking an hour. I have read some threads saying it could be the ecu, one said the ignition switch and another guy told me it could be the fuel pressure regulator. Can someone please help me figure this out thanks

Does the check engine light illuminate for two secs and cut off when you go to turn it on, if it just stays illuminated you may have a bad main relay

Start by resoldering the main relay, cleaning and tightening the G101 ground wire on the thermostat housing, and replacing fuses 24 and 31.
If those give you no joy, then swap in a known good ECU.

Re: fuel pump not priming up
I'd check the main relay first. My 95 was doing almost the same thing a while ago. It would start up fine, I'd get to where I was going and kill it, get back in try to crank it, nothing. Fuel pump wasn't priming. I would wait 10 minutes or so and it would prime and start right up. Changed the main relay and all was good. When it isn't priming, feel of the relay. See if you can feel it engage or hear it click when you turn the key on.

Re: fuel pump not priming up
Okay so far I have replaced the main relay and cleaned the thermostat housing. I have checked fuses 24 and 31 they are fine but I am still having a delay in the fuel priming up when I cycle the key to the on position. Is their a possibility it's the ecu or fuel pump itself?

Re: fuel pump not priming up
before of you change your ECU the car had spark? The distributor you changed after the ecu?
i know that's look like a stupid thing, but you tried using your ecu oem after change your distributor? Another thing, you can testing your coil. The new is oem or aftermarket?
Yours spark plugs are ok? Your spark plug wire are ok too?

Re: fuel pump not priming up
Plugs are new and wires look good. And when I changed the distributor last month I had spark and now today I realize I have no spark. I put the the ecu I got in last night hoping it would make the fuel prime right up but I didn't. And I'm lost on other things to try once I get another distributor

When you plug the new ECU, your pump priming up?
I think the problem doesn't is with your ECU, the problem with the spark, i think the problem be the coil. The Cel light don't indicates none problem?
I had problem with my distributor two months ago and my cel light indicate that problem was in a sensor. The coil i think the ecu don't indicate, because of that, i think the problem it may be she.

Re: fuel pump not priming up
do you checked the pump plug under the rear seat? Underneath have one aluminium cover fixed with 4 screw. Remove the cover e check the plug, maybe it is dirt and the contacts are interrupted.
