Um i may be wrong but doesn't the sending unit read the fuel level? The pump does just that and only that, pump.

I'm not completely positive, but I don't think the fuel pump has anything to do with your fuel level reading. I believe there is a seperate pickup/sensor for that. And for a mild swap with just bolt ons, a walbro 190 should be sufficient. buy that one that fits your car (although civic/teg should be the same).

Yes, the sending unit is next to or near by the pump...but preform two different functions. There are aftermarket units/sending units by Autometer, but not 100% sure they're available for Hondas or not. Might just try a junk yard unit...

They are under your back seat beneath a metal cover held in by several screws.
There should be one hole for the level unit, and one for the fuel pump. And they both have there own wires connected to them.
Good Luck!

Re: (Budget Racer)
if you order anything to replace it, just ask for a fuel pump assembly. it will come with everything you need (generally minus the sock)
