Fuel pump, filter, or line?
My 93 civic EX has been acting up lately.
It normally runs fine, but every once in a while, it refuses to take off, and no matter how much gas you give it, it acts like it has gotten no gas and dies. Also when driving on the interstate/highway, at a semi-regular interval (~ 1 min) it will make a kind of hissing noise and my RPMS drop slightly, but then it goes back to running normal again. Do you know what the problem is? |

Re: Fuel pump, filter, or line? (BatuKing)
That's what I thought it was... I just bought the car a month or 2 ago, so I thought it might be due for a fuel filter change...
|
might as well do a full tune up while you're at it

yeah start with the cheap stuff...that fuel filter we have it for like 8 bucks at the AutoZone.. aloso maybe a fuel treatment ?

Re: Fuel pump, filter, or line? (civic_slut)
you know you could always say it was a bad fuel pump and use it as an excuse to upgrade.

Re: Fuel pump, filter, or line? (dsmguy)
why would he need to "upgrade" if the car is bone stock????? https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emdgust.gif

Re: Fuel pump, filter, or line? (civic_slut)
Thanks for all the help! I replaced the fuel filter... and while I was at it, the air filter. After looking at the air filter I think it may have been a bit of both. All better now!

I don't mean to thread jack, but it looks like you got to the root of your problem so I am not as concerned. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif My question is how much good do fuel treatments do? Also, if it is worth the money what treatmetns are good? Thanks... |
